Human Race

 Scattered thoughts among the crowd

Yet silence seems to speak out loud

With hearts so yearning to engage

With love and joy, with fear and rage

The desperate minds trying to sedate

Discover time may run too late

Those false desires we treat as real

Our state of mind and youth they steal

To jealousy and greed we fall

For in the end to lose it all

But not all here should be despaired

The web that binds us we may tear

Though much is loosely understood

Not all is lost and some is good

We stand together face to face

This power called the human race
