When You See

It’s different when you see things
From the point in which you're standing.
Diverse imaginations,
Never satisfied expanding.
 

When daylight is in session
We wish the night to jeer;
In darkness and tranquility
We hope the light will reappear.
 

In childhood we desire
Maturity and truth;
And as the years confront us,
decide we want our youth.
 

Experience by hurt
Provides a lesson less to learn.
Yet time will often teach us,
Some stones best are left unturned.
